Even if the only time you would have to write in a certain position would be when you were composing emails to clients and other coworkers, the amount of respect that can be lost from others due to a misspelled word or an incomplete thought is enormous.

Problem Solving Skills

In our opinion, being able to exemplify that you have problem solving skills will get you a job faster than anything else will. Employers want to hire self-starters. They want employees whose hand they do not have to hold day in and day out. They want ambitious and smart people working beneath them. If you can’t prove you are a person with these types of traits, you will probably have a fairly hard time getting hired anywhere.
