Welcome to The Professional Development Center

The Professional Development Center (PDC) of Glendale Community College has been providing state-funded and fee-based training in Southern California since 1985.

The PDC was founded by Glendale Community College in cooperation with the State Chancellor’s Office and the California Employment Training Panel (ETP). Training is funded through ETP disbursement of a percentage of the unemployment tax paid by California employers.

Over the past 31 years, the Professional Development Center of Glendale Community College has enhanced the knowledge and skills of over 36,000 professionals from more than 4,800 organizations.

Our goal is to train companies to new levels of productivity, and it is a goal that has been successfully realized with companies ranging from Walt Disney, Warner Bros., and Nestle… to WorleyParsons, Crane Aerospace and Electronics, and the Vought Commercial Division of Triumph Aerostructures.

THE PDC’S TRAINING CENTER IN MONTROSE IS A 10,000-SQUARE-FOOT, STATE-OF-THE-ART COMPLEX

The Professional Development Center is proud to offer one of the finest training facilities in the State of California. Located on Honolulu Avenue in Montrose, just minutes from the Glendale Community College campus. The PDC is a full-service, 10,000-square-foot complex with a machine shop, inspection department, conference rooms, and training classes.

In addition to scheduled classes, the PDC specializes in creating customized training programs for all qualified companies, both large and small.

Kimberly Edelman, the Executive Director of the Professional Development Center of Glendale Community College, has been a major force in the training of Southern California employees for over 32 years.

She has supervised the training of numerous employees from companies and institutions in Southern California. Her expertise include the legislation, regulation, and qualification for ETP funding, with specialization in identifying the training needs of businesses and industries, as well as the design and implementation of customized curricula.

For the Professional Development Center of Glendale Community College, Kimberly Edelman has been integral to the execution of over 35 performance-based ETP contracts totaling over $47 million with a success rate of 98%.

Today, the Professional Development Center of Glendale Community College is acclaimed as one of the most innovative training agencies in the State of California.
